Hours prior to the start of the first day of school in Houghton Lake, a car heading East on M-55 suddenly lost control and hit a telephone pole in front of the Pines Theater. The crash took out power to the area and the first day of school had to be cancelled. It turns out that an elderly man passed out while driving.
One eyewitness said,That was the craziest thing I've ever seen.
An ambulance rushed him to the hospital and he is in stable condition and is expected to leave the hospital later today with minimal injuries.
